También ciertos alimentos, pueden llegar a ser letales para la salud del can. Mucho se habla sobre ciertas frutas y verduras que contienen ácidos, que si bien se comen de forma regular o excesiva, puede llegar a dañar ciertos órganos. Sin embargo, hay otros peligros para tu perro que a continuación te presentamos.

1. No desparasitar, ni vacunar
La falta de prevención y de un calendario de vacunas, así como revisiones constantes (por lo menos cada 6 o 12 meses) es una de las principales causas de muerte entre los perros.
2. El calor excesivo
Debemos tener consideración con nuestras mascotas y no sacarlos en las horas de más calor, tomar medidas de precaución, como por ejemplo, tenerlo siempre hidratado, cambiar el agua vez al día, procura proporcionarles sombra, (en caso de que no estén dentro de casa). Y un error que muchos cometemos, es dejarlo dentro del carro, recuerda que si afuera está a 40 grados, dentro del carro y con las ventanas cerradas, hará el doble o triple de calor.
3. Chocolates, dulces industriales y café
Por un lado, el chocolate contiene una sustancia llamada teobromina que es tóxica para los perros. El chocolate negro es el que más porcentaje contiene, por lo que es aún más peligroso. La cafeína para los perros es altamente peligrosa, ya que son sensibles a sus efectos y les puede provocar desde diarrea hasta aceleración cardiaca, incluso la muerte.
4. Semillas de frutas
Son tan nocivas, pero pueden llegar a obstruir su sistema respiratorio. El sistema digestivo de nuestros perros no procesa de igual forma que la de los humanos, por lo que es mejor evitarlas.
5. Flores o plantas
Muchas flores y plantas son nocivas para nuestros perros. Entre ellas se encuentra el narciso de otoño (una de las más peligrosas), la azalea, el ciclamen, tulipanes y jacintos.
6. Aguacate
El hueso del aguacate y las hojas, son altamente tóxicos para los perros ya que contiene una sustancia llamada persina y afecta gravemente el sistema digestivo del perro.
7. Huesos
Los huesos son altamente peligrosos, por que pueden astillar o clavárseles en el estomago, lo cual puede ser mortal. Especialmente los huesos de pollo, ya que son más fáciles de romperse.
8. Ajo y Cebolla
Estos dos alimentos contienen una sustancia llamada tiosulfato, la cual nuestros perros no procesan bien y puede ser muy nociva para su hígado. El efecto depende de la cantidad que haya comido, pero ante un ingestión espontanea es mejor acudir al veterinario.
9. Blanqueadores y anticongelantes
Los anticongelantes como el enjuague bucal y blanqueadores como son, la pasta de dientes, tiene un olor muy particular que atrae a los perros y son muy peligrosos, pues contiene etilenglicol, que afecta al hígado.
10. Alcohol y drogas
No está de más decir: Los perros no pueden consumir bajo ningún concepto alcohol, ni drogas.
