En los últimos años, el patrón de consumo de los mexicanos en cuanto a los diversos gastos de nuestros añorados “perrihijos” o mascotas, se ha disparado de manera exorbitante. La tendencia de tener una mascota en el hogar que nos haga compañía y forme parte de nuestra familia, está dejando huella en la economía, de acuerdo con el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).
Entre el año 2010 y 2018 la contribución de alimentos para mascotas triplicó su impacto, al pasar de 0.14 a 0.55 por ciento.
Tener una mascota implica tener y aceptar un compromiso, no sólo de cuidado y cariño, sino también financiero. Y es que cuando se adopta una mascota es preciso contemplar los diferentes gastos que están por venir.
Algunos gastos que debes considerar antes de tener una mascota son:
- Adquisición.
Si estás por adoptar a una mascota, existen algunas comunidades animaleras (no todas) que piden una cuota de recuperación o donación de alimento a cambio de una adopción responsable, por lo que es posible que tu gasto ande alrededor de los doscientos o trecientos pesos, como máximo. Pero si tu intención es adoptar a una mascota de raza, considera que puedes llegar a pagar hasta 20 mil pesos o más.
- Vacunas
Es sumamente importante vacunarlo y desparasitarlo para cuidar su salud, te puede costar entre quinientos o mil quinientos pesos al año.
- Enfermedades
Una mascota es un ser vivo propenso a enfermedades, y una consulta en el veterinario podría rondar entre los quinientos o trecientos pesos. Además considera que los medicamentos o tratamientos (según la enfermedad) también generan un gasto importante.
- Comida
En cuestión de comida, varia según el tamaño de la mascota. Si es pequeño puedes llegar a pagar de doscientos a trecientos pesos al mes, pero si es más grande podrías llegar a pagar hasta dos mil a 3 mil pesos al mes.
- Accesorios
Entre los más usuales son: cama (las hay desde 200 a dos mil pesos), plato d comida, juguetes, premios, collares, correa, cuyo gasto puede ir desde los setecientos a cuatro mil pesos mensuales.
Estos son sólo algunos de los gastos más comunes a los que tendrás que comprometerte y responsabilizarte al tener una mascota en casa. Últimamente, se ha puesto de moda, salones spa, hoteles, parques y hasta restaurantes espaciales, exclusivos para tu mascota, así si quieres verte muy consentidor, considera que hay gastos extra.
