En todas las etapas, a toda edad el cuerpo de la mujer experimenta cambios, algunos pueden parecer más difíciles de sobrellevar que otros, como es el caso de la menopausia. Aparece a partir de los 35 años o 50 años y se divide en varias etapas y estas son la perimenopausia, que puede comenzar 8 o 10 años antes de la menopausia, que es la etapa en donde ya no hay producción de óvulos ni estrógenos y la postmenopausia, que es donde se presentas síntomas más fuertes y es la que más riesgos conlleva a la mujer.

Las estadísticas

Casi la mitad de las mujeres mexicanas, es decir el 46%, se encuentra en la etapa de la menopausia, y, por lo tanto, con riesgo de desarrollar enfermedades por la ausencia de la producción hormonal, asegura el ginecobstetra del Hospital General de México, Alejandro Vázquez Alanís.

“Existen alternativas para prevenir padecimientos como la osteoporosis y el cáncer de endometrio, así como aliviar los síntomas de la menopausia, que pueden ir acompañados de una buena dieta para reducirlos”, afirma el especialista.

¿Comer una manzana al día reduce los síntomas de la menopausia?

Un nuevo estudio sugiere que una dieta rica en frutas y verduras, específicamente manzanas, puede ayudar disminuir varios síntomas de la menopausia. El estudio se publicó en Menopause, una revista de la sociedad Norteamericana de Menopausia.
